I’m Joe Dames, a ServiceNow Technical Architect and lover of learning and innovation.

Since 2016, I have been a Senior ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect and HR Service Delivery and Integration SME, amongst other things, for Accenture’s ServiceNow Business Group. I’m active in our team’s ServiceNow certification efforts because I enjoy helping folks grow their skills and career through mentorship and teaching enterprise service , process design and technical architecture design, implementation and governance. It’s rewarding for me when teammates find success delivering technically complex projects and then become passionate about the platform because of the meaningful outcomes they bring clients.

Prior to ServiceNow, I founded a startup which created one of the earliest cloud-based EMRs (2006). We focused on Health Informatics innovations such as predictive intelligence decision support tools and data visualizations that enabled care providers to achieve previously unheard of depth of understanding about large sets of patient medication data. I became passionate about creating tools that improved patient outcomes by simply illuminating meaning and wisdom in standard patient data sets. Our most compelling example was the Medication Iconograph which enabled care providers to quickly comprehend critical nuances of drug-to-drug interactions, altered medication adherence, prescription change histories and trends within patient reported medication efficacy. The National Institutes of Health, the National Library of Medicine, and the USDA helped us accelerate our growth by funding our research initiatives and even facilitating a partnership with Google Apps for Business and Google Health to develop the first HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based EMR.
